Advantex Express Inc. was founded in 1987 by Gregory Richard, Jan Nyberg, John Vella and Andre Leclerc. The company was founded on the premise that the market needed a full service transportation and customs brokerage firm that took full ownership of its clients' transportation needs. The founders knew, in order to be successful, Advantex would have to achieve "best in class" service status.
Since its inception, Advantex has been a "one stop shop" for transportation and customs brokerage.
The company was started with the share and sweat capital of its existing shareholders. Through the years they have taken an active role in the day-to-day operations of the company and have shaped its "do whatever it takes" service attitude.
It was this attitude that necessitated expansion across Canada and overseas.
Its first and current head office is located in Mississauga, Ontario in the Greater Toronto Area. Within two years, in order to better serve its clients, the company opened an office in Montreal, Quebec. This provided excellent coverage for the East Coast of North America.
In 1991, less than five years into its operations, Advantex established a West Coast presence by opening offices in Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia.
The company continued to foster its vision of doing whatever it takes to surpass client expectations and commenced operations in Ottawa, Ontario in 2000 to better serve its clients within the explosive High Tech industry.
